Hoover Essential Lifeskills Opportunities (HELO) is a nonprofit organization founded to address a critical gap in support for young adults transitioning into independence, particularly those aging out of foster care. Too often, these young adults face adulthood without the practical life skills, guidance, and support systems needed to succeed. HELO empowers young adults ages 18–26 through essential life-skills education, meaningful guidance, and opportunities to build confident, independent futures.

HELO is a Tenessee nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young adults, primarily current and former foster youth, as they transition into independent adulthood.
We provide practical life skills education, educational support, and transitional resources to help young adults build confidence, develop stability, and create lasting opportunities for their future.

Beginning in Williamson County, our mission is to empower young adults, particularly those transitioning out of foster care, with the life skills, stability, and support needed to build confident, independent futures. As we grow, we envision expanding our reach throughout Middle Tennessee and ultimately across the state, creating brighter futures and stronger communities along the way.

Hoover Essential Lifeskills Opportunities empowers young adults aging out of foster care through life skills education, mentorship, guidance, and family style advocacy, while also supporting those who have experienced abandonment without stable support, equipping them to achieve stability, independence, and long term success.
